Pearl Types

Akoya Pearls
Akoya Pearls (see our Akoya collection)

Produced from the  Pinctada fucata martensi  oysters primarily in the waters of Japan and China, Akoya Pearls range in size from 2.0m-10.0m and can come in shades of white, pink, cream, yellow and bluish/silver. They remain a favorite classic!

South Sea Baroque Pealrs
South Sea Pearls (see our South Sea collection)

Oysters of the Pinctada maxima species create the cherished South Sea Pearls which range in size from 8 to 20+ mm.   Found in the waters of Australia, the Phillipines and Thailand, these pearls are renowned for their lustrous nacre and exceptional sizes.  South Sea pearls come in white with beautiful pink, silver, and blue iridescence. The gold-lipped version of this species also creates naturally-colored golden pearls which come in a stunning range of light to deep golden hues.

Tahitian Drops
Tahitian Pearls (see out Tahitian collection)

Pinctada margaritifera  oysters yield Tahitian Pearls.  Like their South Sea counterparts, Tahitian pearls range in size from 8 to 20 mm.  Primarily from the waters of French Polynesia,  Tahitian pearls are known for their deep black and gray colors, thus the name “black pearl”, but these pearls also come in a beautiful array of natural shades, such as peacock green, pistachio, and aubergine.
