Pearl Care

Since any pearl purchase is a special one, make sure to remember the following things when taking care of your pearls to preserve their beauty and longevity.  Remember that good-quality pearls should last a lifetime. 

• String your pearls once a year if you wear them frequently to avoid the silk knots from breaking. It is recommended that silk be used to string your pearls.
  
  
• Apply makeup, lotions, perfumes, and hair spray BEFORE putting on your pearls as these products can dull the luster of your pearls.
  
  
• After wearing your pearls, wipe them gently with a soft damp cloth to remove any makeup or oil residue that may be on the pearls. Do not place your pearls underwater as that may weaken the silk thread.
  
  
• Store your pearls separately from other jewelry to avoid scratches. If storing for longer periods, remember not to store them in security boxes where they might become  dehydrated.
