FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: How are pearls shaped?

A: The various shapes of pearls are naturally formed.  Although a round nucleus is inserted into cultured pearls to help form round pearls, when nature takes over, the nacre can form in layers that form a variety of different shapes (Pearl Grading).

Q: Do you sell dyed or color-treated pearls?

A: Never. No dyes or color- treatments are used on any pearls sold by Eugenia Chung LLC.  All pearls are 100% natural.

Q:  What is keshi?

A: Simply stated, keshi is pure nacre.  It's created when nacre forms without a nucleus.  It's a rare occurrence.

Q: How can I take a look at your pearls and pearl jewelry?

A: Contact us to make an appointment if you live in the Los Angeles area. We also work with customers outside of Los Angeles.  Eugenia frequently travels for private showings and events in other parts of the country, including New York, Washington, D.C. and Florida. Contact us to see if she will be in your area. Eugenia also has overseas customers in Europe and Asia.

Q: Do you have a catalog?

A: Because all of our pearl necklaces are one-of-a-kind and cannot be manufactured, we unfortunately do not have a catalog of pearl strands.  Please inquire directly for specific pearl necklace requests and we will provide you with a selection fitting your desired specifications.

For finished pieces, such as earrings, pendants, and rings, browse through our Pearl Collection or contact us for customized jewelry designs.
